With the average user in mind, this new device features two 3.5-inch bays to house all of your files.
Earlier this morning we talked about the Synology RS2414+, NAS designed for small and medium-sized businesses. Now it’s time for the Synology DiskStation DS214, a NAS designed for regular consumers with two 3.5-inch 6 Gbps SATA bays, a dual-core processor and 512 MB of RAM. It can manage two RAID disks with speeds of more than 100 MB/s in RAID1.
Its operative system, the DSM 4.3, allows it to access your files from your home network or an FTP server, and also has some advanced features like automatically creating backups. It has USB 3.0 ports to connect additional devices plus an Ethernet Gigabit port.
This device will cost around $399.99 and will likely hit the market in just a few days.
