* Note: As the price may change, some Laptops’ price may more than $1000

Something instantly comes to attention of these laptops above, and that is the absence of Nvidia G-Sync, responsible for the lack of flickering and stammering in games, very notable when comparing the displayed and GPU rendered content. Although this option is not so necessary for a gaming laptop, it still removes a lot of the in-game glitches, and safes time in adjusting your game display settings and also safes nerves form distraction. To solve this problem, simply plug the gaming laptop to a gaming monitor that supports G-sync. or add your bungut to buy a high end model, the price always around 1500$.

The Most recommendation: Acer Aspire VX15

If you are looking for a midrange budget gaming laptop, the Acer Aspire VX15 will certainly satisfy your needs. Characterized with high speed, good graphics performances and a solid battery life, it offers excellent performance for a good price.

Acer Aspire VX 15

Without even testing it and making a thorough analysis, only based on it’s specs, a small amount of reviews from sources with high credibility and our huge experience, we could freely rank this laptop in the top amongst the under $1000 laptops.

However, after getting one, and testing its abilities back and forth like testing every other laptop, you will see that we were very close to our presumption based on experience.

Performance

Knowing the specs required to run a certain game, program or application, you will find it easy to decide whether you can run it or not, and the presence of Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card makes that choice quite broad.

Running on ultra-settings, at 1080p, we were achieving firm FPS in the games following (there were variation of course, but the result shown below is the stable or average FPS)

  • Battlefield 1 – 60 FPS
  • The Witcher 3 – 48 FPS
  • Crysis 3 – 45 FPS (in some segments of the game it raised up to 60)
  • Tomb Raider 70 – FPS
  • Total War 30 – FPS

  • Display quality

Display quality has always been a thorny issue with laptops, so a few things must be noted. This laptop comes equipped with an IPS screen, which means that you will not experience picture quality loss, even at extreme angles. The native resolution of 1920 x 1080 is full HD and allows you to play the most demanding video games and watch movies, without feeling like you are missing on something. The colors are vibrant and crisp, and the VX 15 does not seem to have any problems with bad pixels. Overall, the Display quality for this particular model is stellar, and there are no notable drawbacks.

    Build quality

    http://gaminglaptopunder1000.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Acer-Aspire-VX-15-1.png

The chassis is made out of fully compressed plastic. The laptop is all in all firm, except for the small shake of the screen, visible only when you apply force on the screen, which probably comes from the hinges connected to the lid which are a bit weak but nothing to seriously worry about. . The keys are pretty crunchy, and the spacing between them is more than moderate, and they are very easy to use.

    Cooling system

When running demanding applications, especially triple a video games, laptops have the bad habit of overheating. That means that a laptop created with the specific needs of a gamer in mind should have proper ventilation capabilities, to keep the core at decent temperatures. Again, this model seems to do an incredibly good job, seeing that it is just a budget model. Test runs show that the VX 15 has no issues with maintaining a temperature of just 48C when playing games such as Tomb Raider, the latest Witcher, Total War, or GTA 5. All the ventilation assets, like the fans, the way the case is built to allow for easy cooling, and the heat sink, seem to be working together like a charm.

    Battery Life:

The advertised battery life for the VX 15 is six hours, but you should take such information at face value. The more demanding applications you run, the less time the battery will last. That being said, if you plan on using this laptop for intensive gaming, expect somewhere around three hours of actual running time.

    Things you should know

    • Although the laptop may look a bit on the bulky side, it actually has quite a slim profile.
    • Expect to clean the case regularly since fingerprints will be visible after some handling.
    • You can count on sound quality, which is another great plus for a laptop.

Important note: As you can see, there are not many drawbacks to this laptop from Acer. However, it must be noted that at its launch, the model didn’t come with a mounting kit for adding another SSD. That resulted in immediate negative feedback from users which caused the company to add the needed kit eventually. Those who have already purchase the VX 15, but without a kit, can fill out a request form and Acer will send the kit, at no extra charge.

    Conclusion

The VX 15 is the best gaming laptop you can purchase right now for less than 1,000 dollars, and it offers great bang for the buck, due to its excellent features and overall performance.

    ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD

    ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD

The ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD has some impressive features which include top of the line hardware and a very thin profile, which is very rare for a gaming laptop. In today’s market, it is one of the best money values available. If your goal is to have a high end gaming laptop at a price that is economical, you will not be disappointed with the GL553VD.

    Hardware Configuration

This laptop utilizes the Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor. This processor is considered by many to be one of the most powerful processors on the market today for laptops. It has hyper-threading enabled in a quad core processor. The clock speed of 2.8 GHz per core and a turbo boost to 3.8 GHz is quite impressive. The basic technology of Turbo boost increases the processor speed to 3.8 GHz during arduous tasks. Under ideal conditions, battery life is conserved with the processor running at 2.8 GHz. You will not have to contend with performance lag because the ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD comes with a whopping 16 GB DDR4 of RAM.

Of course, you want your gaming laptop to have an outstanding graphics card. Fortunately, this notebook comes with one of the best and most recent graphic cards available from NVIDIA; the GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB GDDR5. To give you an indication of the speed and power of this graphics card, it easily supports almost  all of the latest most demanding games well on high settings, such as Crysis 3, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Watch Dogs.

The Gaming Test (Compare to GTX 960m):

    GTA 5

     GTA 5 (1080p, Low)  GTA 5 (1080p, Medium) GTA 5 (1080p, Max)
     NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 96 fps (-16.5%) 61 fps (+64.8%) 19 fps (+26.7%)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 115 fps 37 fps 15 fps

    F1 2015

     F1 2015 (1080p, Low)  F1 2015 (1080p, Medium) F1 2015 (1080p, Max)
     NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 85 fps (+39.3%) 64 fps (+ 33.3%) 47 fps (+51.6%)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 61 fps 48 fps 31 fps

    Storage

Unlike some other gaming laptops at this price tag, the ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD has a 1 TB of HDD with RPM of 7200, not just a 5400.RPM.  In the same way that a system benefits from a faster processor, having a faster HDD is also of benefit.

    Features

The ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD sports red stripes on the black stealth color of the laptop. The 15.6 inch Full HD screen uses IPS panel,  which have a great viewing angles. You will find that this laptop is second to none in design. It boasts of the signature cooling design and a brushed aluminum exterior. The keyboard features a red backlight. Previous versions were all-black and, in comparison, this new design is a welcomed addition.

With a thickness of only 0.8 inches, the ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD is extremely slim for a laptop made for gaming. When you take into consideration that several budget and multimedia laptops have a profile design that is 0.8 inches, it is quite remarkable that this gaming laptop has the same thickness; this is quite an accomplishment.

This laptop has a great deal to offer with its WebCam, multi-DVD optical drive, Wi-Fi, SD card reader and other standard interfacing and connectivity options.

    Conclusion

If you are in the market for a gaming laptop that will run just about everything you can think of and yet still manages to give you an exceptionally good price, the ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD should be your first consideration. It is difficult to find a good multimedia laptop in this price range, so when you find a gaming laptop with all these amenities, it is well worth every penny. In my opinion the ASUS ROG Strix GL553VD is an exceptional buy.

well done sir. you earned a bookmark.

    • Well , im kinda confused now. Some of other user said the lenovo battery can last 2 hours in game and 5 hours on normal task .

    • The lenovo ideapad became my interest since last night . But there are few disadvantage of it . When i see some of user review , they said it heat up and has bad cooling system but they never said how long they play until it heat up . And 2 hours battery life eventhough u are not playing games and just surfing the internet .

    • Hi , im thinking to buy Acer Aspire V3-772G-9829 , well because it not too expensive. But when i see the ASUS N550JV-DB72T , i see it almost have no different specs with acer except it 15.6 while acer 17.3 inch . So is the size affecting the price of laptop ? And is 17.3 inch is too big ? Just wondering .

      • Darwin

My advice, get the 15.6″. The larger 17.3″ is nice if you don’t have to take it anywhere. It is just too large to be very portable. I bought a 17.3″ a few years ago and now in the market for a smaller, more portable model such as the 15.6″.
Also, the battery life on the larger screens has been poor in my case, lasting no more that 90 minutes between charges!

Katherine, I am replying about your comment on buying either a Lenavo or Toshiba… Speaking from experience, i would go with a Lenavo, toshiba is almost unusable. The battery stinks and the computer in general is terrible, AND it is over your budget. Go with a Lenavo

    • Katherine

      possible budget: $500-$750
      Thank you!

    • Logan Rush

I was wondering if the Acer Aspire will be a good match for the WoW standard and be able to run the graphics on High or Ultra without a big drop in fps or lag return. Have decently fast internet just wanting to make sure that it will render and play well.

    • Ciaran D
