Best Gaming Laptops under 600 Dollars 2016

March 22, 2016 2:19 am0 comments

In this page, I list some gaming laptops under 600 or just a little over 600. This amount will not get you a professional high-end gaming laptop, but the specs of these $600 gaming laptops are not bad. All are equipped with AMD A8 or even A10 quad-core processors and a midrange GPU. You also can find an i5 laptop, but its graphics performance will be slightly handicap. Here I will recommend one the best, although it has some drawbacks, but I promise it’s the best laptop under $600 you can find for gaming. I also cited a number of other good laptops; you can select the one that is best suited to your needs.

My recommendation: Acer Aspire E 15 E5-573G-79JP

Acer Aspire V 15 V3-572G-51DR

Acer Aspire E 15 E5-573G-79JP is an entertainment PC launched by Acer recently, its price is around 600 dollars, but it is well worth recommending to the users who are willing to increase a small amount of the budget because of its excellent performance-cost ratio.

It almost adopts the same design as the former E5-571G, except that the upper of V3-572PG’s base unit is using metal instead of plastic and the overall color is changed from black to charcoal gray.

Acer 573G-52G3 is equipped with dual-core Intel i7-5500U. Compared to 4 core AMD A10-7300 it has more better performance, and thanks to better 22nm Manufacturing Technology, it has a lower power consumption, the TDP is 15w, while the A10-7300’s TDP is 19w. In addition, it aslo be equipped with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display.

In terms of storage, Acer V3 is equipped with a 1000GB 5400 rpm hard drive, only a 1000 GB hard drive seems a bit stingy at the times when hard drives are so cheap, it is proposed to add an SSD to enhance the overall performance dramatically and increase the storage space as well.

In addition, Acer Aspire E5-573G is equipped with GTX940M (4GB DDR3 VRAM) discrete graphics, according benchmark results, the 940M shows around 10% performance leap over GeForce 840M, together with the speedy Core i5 processor, it can run most games smoothly at the native resolution and medium to high quality settings, for some very demanding games such as Mordor or Ryse: Son of Rome, you need to set a lower resolution and setting to ensure smooth running.

Generally speaking, Acer Aspire E 15 E5-573G-79JP is the best in configuration in the current laptops of 500$, with high performance-cost ratio, it is worth buying.

Buying Guide:

As mentioned above, the Acer Aspire E 15 E5-573G is what I most want to recommend to you, whose graphics card is the best among current laptops of $600 or so. its separate graphics card GTX940m (4GB VRAM) has made up for this defect. In addition, it aslo be equipped with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display.

Acer Aspire V5-552-X814 is another laptop I recommend, due to the use of APU platform, the AMD A10-5757M processor integrates Radeon HD 8650G, and it can achieve very good performance without the dedicated graphics card. (Read More information on Amazon)

In terms of CPU core, Intel CPU cores are more powerful than AMD’s APU CPU cores. According to benchmarks test, when compared to Richland architecture APUs at the same clock speed , the Intel Haswell architecture CPU core would be about 25% more powerful. As a result, although the Intel i7-5500U has a lower frequency of the 2.4 GHz than the AMD A10-5757M of 2.5 GHz, the A10-5757M has 4 cores, while the i7-5500U has only two, it is still better than the AMD 5757M in the performance of the CPU core. In addition, the i7-5500U has lower power consumption due to more advanced technology of 22nm.

Lenovo Z50 is a model recently launched by Lenovo, which is provided with a power efficient ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) quad-core processor A10-7300 that using 28nm production technique. Although its performance is no match for that of AMD A10-5750M, it has a markedly reduced power consumption, with only a rated power of 19 Watts, while that of A10-5750M is as high as 35w; a smaller power consumption will lead to smaller amount of heat and can better avoid the occurrence of slow operation and breakdown of the laptops. This point is of tremendous importance to the gaming laptops. The AMD A10-7300 integrates Radeon R6 GPU, whose performance is similar to that of 720M, and it can smoothly operate most of the current games. However, the 8650G’s gaming performance is relatively higher that that of Radeon R6. I think under the circumstance that a laptop’s performance can meet your gaming needs, the selection of laptop with a smaller power consumption is more suitable; and in contrast to the pursuit of the excessive performance, the stability of performance is of a greater importance.

The ThinkPad E555 adopts the same processor of A10-7300 as the Z50, but it is equipped with a dedicated graphics card Radeon R7 M260DX.The performance of Radeon R7 M260DX is similar to the GTX 830M, that can play many games smoothly in medium and even high setting. For demanding games, it runs well (more than 30 fps) on low resolutions and detailed settings. Please note, the most attractive place is it is equipped with a 250GB SSD.
