If you are running a somewhat tight budget but want to play some video games on your laptop, then you should definitely check out this list of gaming under 500 dollars. By buying a laptop that costs less than $500, it only can play LIGHT games e.g. Minecraft, Runescape, World of Warcraft, Shaiya, and those types of lower-end games, If you want to play some heavy games, you won’t be getting the same kind of high quality graphics in your gaming that you can expect form some higher end laptops. You simply cannot expect to have a good gaming experience with an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor with a built-in GPU. If you consider play playing more intense games like crysis or battlefield to be one of your main priorities, then please choose a professional gaming laptop, you can buy a laptop with an a core i7 and Nvidia GeForce 660M / AMD HD 7970M video card.

Lenovo G505s

Lenovo G505s

Lenovo selected AMD APU’s Richland models to use with its new G505s series. This seems like Lenovo wants to provide inexpensive options for its gaming customers. As a result, you will find AMD APUs and GPUs as a part of the new G505 series. The platform is great for gaming.

The AMD A10-5750M is a mobile quad core processor that uses Richland technology. It was produced after the A10-4600M. It possesses a CPU that is higher and has graphics that perform better. It can basically be called a moderate processor. The APU includes 4 CPU cores, the Northbridge with a good DDR3 memory controller and a DirectX11 graphics unit,

Based upon certain clock rates, this model should work at a 10 percent improved rate than the A10-4600M. Also it should perform just as well as a Core i3-2330m  (Sandy Bridge). Basically, it does well with its existing games and applications.

The AMD Radeon HD 8650G is a processor graphics card that exists in the AMD Richland APUs – A10 5750M. It has certain shadercores which can promise its performance. It really does not have specific options for graphic memory. But it does share key memory with the CPU cores.

Based upon the clock rate of the 515-720 MHz, it should perform 20 percent  above the Radeon HD 7660g. So, this model operates close to Radeon models that are dedicated such as the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M or Radeon HD 7670M. Games of 2014 can be played fluently in low to medium settings.

Note: Some Laptops’ price may little more than $500

With the exception of Acer X617 priced at about 600 dollars, among the other five laptops, the performances of Lenovo G505s and Acer V5-552P-X617 are extremely similar. I personally prefer the Lenovo brand; However, the touch-screens of Acer Aspire V5-552P-X617 are high enticing, and they are more suitable for the Windows 8 system; In addition, it features a bit better processor. So it is a highly good buy.

Lenovo Z50 is a model recently launched by Lenovo, which is provided with a power efficient ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) quad-core processor A10-7300 that using 28nm production technique. Although its performance is no match for that of AMD A10-5750M, it has a markedly reduced power consumption, with only a rated power of 19 Watts, while that of A10-5750M is as high as 35w; a smaller power consumption will lead to smaller amount of heat and can better avoid the occurrence of slow operation and breakdown of the laptops. This point is of tremendous importance to the gaming laptops. The AMD A10-7300 integrates Radeon R6 GPU, whose performance is similar to that of 720M, and it can smoothly operate most of the current games. However, the 8650G’s gaming performance is relatively higher that that of Radeon R6. I think under the circumstance that a laptop’s performance can meet your gaming needs, the selection of laptop with a smaller power consumption is more suitable; and in contrast to the pursuit of the excessive performance, the stability of performance is of a greater importance.

Acer Aspire E5-571G-38VF is another great choice, it features i3-4030U processor and NVIDIA GeForce 820M dedicated graphics card. The performance of i3-4030U is relatively stronger than that of AMD A10-7300, and meanwhile these two feature the same power consumptions; the performance of 820M is similar to that of Radeon R6, but its price is cheaper than that of Lenovo Z50; if you have no preferences to brands, then acer e5 is an ideal option.

In comparison with other laptops, HP 17-E0xx is poorer in its performance; however, it features a bigger screen, which is more suitable for users who favor bigger screens.
