Based on the A88 chipset with FM2+ socket, the newest members in MSI’s gaming series now feature support for the new AMD APUs with HSA.
AMD’s APUs, especially the latest generation (Kaveri) with HSA architecture, feature an integrated chip capable of flawlessly handle any game, as well as using the integrated GPU to increase the performance of other tasks: you can have an APU along with an integrated GPU, having the GPU take care of the AI and physics of the game, while the GPU handles the graphical aspects of it. This makes it an excellent device for every videogame enthusiast.
MSI’s Gaming Series now welcomes their two new members compatible with the Kaveri APUs: the MSI A88X-G45 GAMING and the A88XM GAMING.
Both motherboards are compatible with the Kaveri APU and previous models, since the FM2+ is backwards compatible, and they support Crossfire, feature PCI-Express 3.0 x16 ports and Killer LAN network cards, as usual for MSI motherboards.
They also feature a MSI Audio Boost sound card with a Creative Sound Blaster Cinema chip, which features 8-channel 7.1 audio and a USB Audio Power system that keeps a stable 5W output for every USB amplifier. Every component is military-grade, which ensures its awesome performance and durability even when over clocking.
The difference between the MSI A88X-G45 and the A88XM is the size; the first is an ATX board with three PCI-E 16x ports, while the latter is a micro-ATX one with just two of these ports. A version G45 will also include Assassin’s Creed Liberation.
Nothing has been said about the official price.
