CES 2014.Lenovo keeps surprising everyone with the devices they’ve been presenting at Las Vegas; today we will talk about the IdeaPad Y40 and Y50, two powerful and aggressive-looking gaming laptops.
They can be considered an upgrade of the 2013 IdeaPad devices; the Y40 and Y50 offer 14 and 15-inch screens, respectively, both with Full HD resolution, though the latter model also supports Ultra HD (3840 × 2160) and touch technology.
They feature Intel Haswell technology, specifically the Core i7-4702HQ, as well as 16 GB of RAM. They support mechanical hard drives of up to 1 TB and SSDs of up to 512 GB.
As for the graphics cards, they feature an AMD Radeon M270 with 2 GB of dedicated memory and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860, also with 2 GB.
They also feature a 720p webcam, JBL speakers with subwoofer and Dolby Advanced Audio V2 support, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and HDMI ports, card reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The battery lasts for around five hours and it comes with Windows 8.1 pre-installed. It will be available in May for 999 USD.
