For all those users who can’t find a mouse that fits their hand perfectly, with neither a palm grip nor a claw grip, Cougar just announced its new mouse Cougar 700M, a mouse with “adaptable geometry”. And yes, before you guys say it, we acknowledge it: it is ugly. But hey, Cougar isn’t looking for aesthetics with this 700M, but for great ergonomics and usability, and based on what people are saying, they’ve accomplished it.
The Cougar 700M design can remind people of the RAT series by MadCatz, but this 700M has some mobile parts and some other parts that can be taken on and off, which help changing from claw to palm grip and vice-versa; something that we hadn’t seen before in any other mouse. It can be made longer or shorter, the mouse’s profile can be raised or lowered, and a lot of other parts can be modified as well. It is better if you see the images for yourselves to get a clear idea, because this mouse looks, to say the least, complicated.
As for the technical features, the Cougar 700M counts with an Avago laser sensor of 8200 DPI, eight programmable buttons and of course, a 4G scroll wheel. It also comprises an internal memory of 512 Mb to store macros and profiles, and an independent ARM processor. No, we are not wrong, it is 512 MB, which according to Cougar, allow the storage of up to 16.8 million macros, almost none.
There is no information regarding their price and availability yet.
