The NEC La Vie GZ is the last jewel of the Japanese company, a 13 inches Ultrabook that beats lightness records of the sector with a weight of only 795 grams.

NEC has an impressive catalog of informatics equipment although it is a shame that most of it doesn’t leave Japan. The last is a NEC LaVie GZ which, with an extraordinary thinness and weight, carries one of the best screens of the market and enough power with Intel’s Haswell. Its screen is an IPS IGZO of 13,3”from Sharp, with a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It uses an Intel Haswell microprocessor Core i7-4510U, together with 4Gb of RAM memory and a 256 Gb hard drive for mass storage.

t includes a DVD recorder, Wi-Fi 802.11ac module and Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports, Digital HDMI video outlet, audio connector for earphones and microphone and an SD card reader.

With pre-installed Windows 8.1, the price to change to the NEC LaVie GX is of 1,400 USD. We don’t know if the lightest Ultrabook of the market will arrive to the European or the American market.
