The specifications of the new Marvell Armada SoC PXA1928 are the following:

  • 28nm manufacturing process.
  • 4-core low-consumption ARM Cortex-A53 “Apollo” processor at 1.5GHz.
  • Compatible with the ARMv8/ARM64 instruction set.
  • Vivante Vega GC6500 graphics.
  • Connectivity: 2G/3G/4G/LTE/WiFi/Bluetooth/NFC.
  • Integrated Radio.

The Marvell Armada PXA1928 offers sufficient computing power to handle many current Android apps, and offers a good graphics performance (128 GFlops, more than the AMD Radeon HD 5450, but less than the Radeon HD 6450) and encoding/decoding HD 1080P videos, features that make it ideal for smartphones, tablets and SmartTVs.

The company said they will release the first working prototypes in March, so the final working versions may hit the market between April and July.
