G.Skill, new series of gaming memory

These new RAM DDR3 memory from G.Skill come with speeds of 1333 and 1600 MHz and efficient power-saving modes.

G.Skill announced a while ago their new AEGIS series, kits designed with gamers and high-end users in mind. However, today we found out these new models come in two versions: 1333 MHz and 1600 MHz, with latency of 9-9-9-24 and 11-11-11-28, which means they’re pretty basic for DDR3 RAM and aren’t the high-end components we were expecting.

Their consumption (1.35 v and de 1.50 v) depends on the kit you get, although there are 1600 MHz models at 1.35v and 1333 MHz ones at 1.50, which means speed isn’t directly related to consumption. Design-wise, some aluminum-made stickers act as dissipaters -don’t expect them to offer the performance of actual dedicated dissipaters, of course-.

The most basic 8 GB kits (2 x 4) will cost around 100 USD and come with lifetime warranty.
