Alienware announces a new MiniPC for Gaming the Alienware Alpha

The division known as Alienware which belongs to Dell, has some time ago announced its Steam Machines, the product of hard work invested in its creation has taken to the E3 its new MiniPC which it has baptized as Alienware Alpha. It is another model of Steam Machine but comes with Windows 8.1 pre-installed. It is designed to be connected to the TV and used with the controller of Steam Big Picture.

Like we mentioned before Alienware Alpha comes with Windows 8.1 and is designed to use the Big Steam Picture controller, in such a way that positions itself to be just another style of the Steam Machine, but with a much wider purpose. Since, it can in turn make use of the conventional HTPC, thanks in part to the inclusion of a polished operating system like Microsoft’s. (Yes, we agree. That SteamOS can also use HTPC, it will work with it, but we must recognize that in this environment the OS of Valve needs more polishing while Windows has years of experience.

With internal hardware this Alpha includes a 4th generation Intel Haswell ( Core i3 dual core) processor, 4GB of RAM memory DDR3-1600 MHz and a NIVIDIA graphics card with 2GB of dedicated memory. The exact model has not been specified although we assume that it will use a GeForce GTX 750 Ti with 2GB almost certainly. On the other hand it has a 500 GB Hard Drive, 802.11 ac W-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, four USB ports (two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0) and of course HDMI video output. As you can see, it is a simple PC, but with a fairly reduced price and able to execute many actual games.

For more demanding users Alienware provides the possibility of improving the internal hardware of the Alpha, including the possibility of changing the processor for the superior model Core i5 and i7, install 8GB of RAM memory or expand it up to a 2TB hard drive. Of course this will raise the price.

Currently we do not know the final price or the date this system will be available.
